New legislation on provision of first aid kits coming into effect 1 November 2012.....

Legislation changes have been tabled and gazetted related to the provision of first aid kits in the work place, people carriers and vehicles. Below are the summary details for your review

All people carriers (taxi's, Limo's, Staff Busses, School Busses, Aftercare Busses and vehicles, Courteousy vehicles, All vehicles carrying Passengers for business or fee's) are required to have a minimum Regulation 3 first aid kit, this has been gazetted and implemented.

All commercial vehicles, trucks, bakkies and sundry transporting goods, services and people will soon need to carry a Regulation 3 or 7 first aid kit, This has been provisionally catered for in the current occupational health and safety act.

ellow Fever vaccination NOT REQUIRED for travel between RSA and Zambia

The South African Department of Health (DoH) informed tsi that there is no change to the current policy regarding yellow fever vaccination requirements for travel between RSA and Zambia. The Department of Health would like to make it very clear that proof of yellow fever vaccination is not a requirement for travel at RSA ports of entry or exit for passengers from Zambia.

In order to best service your clients and passengers, stay up to date with the current rulings and for the latest information available, please refer to the Department of Health website (www.doh.gov.za).

If there are any changes to the policy, tsi (Tourism Safety Initiative) will also inform all relevant stakeholders accordingly.
